Very true, but what about Packers and Bears? Yes you had Favre but Jim Miller? Cade McNown? Rex Grossman?

There is also Oakland vs. Denver which is based more on Mike Shanahan than anyone of the 20 quarterbacks Oakland has used over the last 10 years.

The greatest rivalries are ones that have deep entrenched roots that transcend the players on each of their teams.

One example of this is in hockey. The Maple Leafs vs Canadians. Two Original 6 teams that did not always play in the same conference. But the rivalry transcended the players on the team. The rivalry is so great, you don't even know why you specifically despise that one team more than the others.

That is what I am proposing our New Jersey counter parts to become :) And yes, I refuse to address them as anything but New Jersey!

I think the only reason we have no rivalry is because we have no QB... us or the Dolphins... What's the common denominator in great NFL rivalries? Strong QBs. Big name guys. Manning vs Brady. Cutler vs Rivers. Trent? Chad? It's hard to get excited about that. The only thing that has kept the Miami / Buffalo 'rivalry' on life support is the extremely catchy "squish the fish" which I guess any team can use when they face Miami.
