Chris Kelsay, You Are Playing Better But You Still Suck, Prove Me Wrong…Please
October 11th, 2009 | by armchair31 |Since I have started writing for Fanball I have taken several shots at one player. I have said all kinds of things about him and even dedicated portions of articles based on how he should be released. Of course I am talking about Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay. He has classically underachieved throughout his entire contract extension making him a very highly paid pylon for the last two seasons. Lately, Chris Kelsay looks like the player who warranted the contract extension and appears possessed. He already has equaled his tremendous sack total of last season, 2.
With his improved play I sat down and really thought to myself, do I owe it to Kelsay and issue some form of apology. The more I thought about it, the more I realized the overwhelming answer was…NO. Kelsay has played well, but if for any reason he decides to remember that he is Chris Kelsay and begins to play like him again, than I have apologized for no reason. The fear is that Kelsay will not be able to maintain his play through the full season.
But, to be fair I will issue Mr. Kelsay a challenge. I know he wont have any idea, and most likely doesn’t care, but hey, it makes me feel better. If Kelsay can beat his combined total of the last two seasons in sacks I will apologize, that is a whopping 4.5 sacks. The challenge is there Kelsay, will you make me eat my words, or will you disappoint, again, like you have for most of your career? That was another shot wasn’t it? It comes out even when I am not trying to.
Dick Jauron, same goes for you, all you have to do is not split carries between my main man Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch. Use Lynch the way Tennessee used LenDale White last year. Pretty please?
