Chris Kelsay I Am Sorry
January 2nd, 2010 | by armchair31 |First of all, congratulations to my brother, who’s lovely wife gave birth to healthy baby boy and is a welcome addition to our family. Surprise! Welcome to the wonderful world of parenting…it’s…errr…ummm….great. Anywho, good luck and congrats and don’t forget to soak in the first year because it goes by quickly.
Now, I owe someone an apology. On December 13th, Chris Kelsay rose to the challenge and did the amazing feat of breaking his production of the last two years combined. Over the last two seasons, Kelsay was able to produce a very poor 4.5 sacks (yes, I said combined). I have criticized him a lot throughout the season and had offered a challenge that I would apologize if he were able to break his amazing 4.5 sack total. Well, December 13th against the Chiefs, Kelsay was able to record his 5th sack of the season.
According to NFL statistics, this means that only 48 other players have more sacks then him in the entire NFL; impressive. Although Patrick Kerney ais tied with Kelsay, it is more or less an anomaly for him. Kelsay is joined by the likes of such pass rushing greats as Kroy Biermann, Mike Wright, and Tony Brown. So Chris Kelsay I am sorry. You have risen to the occasion and went from a non serviceable starting DE to a pedestrian, NFL starter. Bazinga.
Chris Kelsay, you are now a legit NFL backup DE. Now, if only the Bills had more depth to make that a reality.
